• Death*: George Strein died before 4 December 1796 at York, PA, US, Henry Kingery (sp?), justice of the peace for York County, the coroner being too far distant upon the view of the body of George Strine, convened the following group of “good and lawful men of the County of York”, Samuel Miller, John Wilson, Charles Heyer, Henry Mathias, Sr., John Mathias, Henry Mathias, Jr., Elijah Meredith, George Fink, Joseph Douglas, Peter Dentzel, Philip Welty and Jacob Caufel, to inquire when, where, how and in what manner George Strine came to his death. They concluded George Strine was intoxicated with liquor, fell down on the ground and perished in the cold weather after not being able to recover from his fall.^1,3
